creeper.

Okay – I’ll admit, I’m totally slacking on posting shoots lately. But I’m trying to get completely caught up on my editing, and I’m trying to relax a little more. My doctor hasn’t been too impressed with the ol’ blood pressure lately.

So, in an effort to redeem myself and at least post a little something, I’ll tell you a little story. A true one.

Last Saturday morning, Anna (the loveliness pictured above) and I were roaming the streets of downtown Monroe; chatting, giggling, acting obnoxious as usual, and had 1 thing on our minds – she would effortlessly roll a pose, and I would click the shutter on my camera. We had been doing this for probably 30-45 minutes, when at one point I realized there was an older man standing beside me, watching her. At first I didn’t think anything of it, but then I looked at him, and smiled, and said “oh I’m sorry! Are you needing to get through here?” He said “nope, just watching… but I’m wondering, why are you taking the downside of the town rather than the upside.” I was a little confused on what he was trying to say, I mean, we were in the middle of downtown, and to me, well… thats the nicest part of Monroe, entirely. So I explained to him that I look for the imperfections in the settings, I like the unique, less perfect backdrops. He wasn’t giving up very easy on the topic, we went back-and-forth over and over, until he said “well i’ve been following you all around watching y’all do this and I just didn’t understand why you were taking them in these places instead of the nicer places”.

Houston. We have a problem. So… he’s telling me he just followed us? What? And then he started pointing out the spots where we did shots at the very beginning of our shoot and then all the shots up until this very moment. I was not, at all, happy. Anna and I walked off, constantly looking back to be sure he wasn’t following. But, all I could think about was this song; I’m pretty sure he had his knees bent and his arms were t-rexin’ - since he followed us, I’m going to go ahead and say, he was a creeper. And I was tough scared.

matt+tricia

These two were married on a gorgeous January day, in a cozy little church right outside of Monroe. I met them through Matt’s family, I didn’t really know Matt, but I knew his parents. So Matt’s mom called me, and said “I want you to talk to my future daughter-in-law about wedding photography!”, okay yay! So Tricia and I talked for a while, and then talked again on facebook later, and we realized we were actually distant cousins. Ah, small world! Our grandparents are first cousins, sweet!

I brought along Dallas (my 15 year old brother) as my assistant, and since he loves photography, I let him do some 2nd shooting. I was in loveee with the images he got. I’m such a gushing older sister! ;)

this is Tricia’s sister – Katie. I’m so, so jealous of this girls hair.

Tricia & Matt: Thank you SO much for letting Dallas and I help celebrate such a big day in your lives. We had so much fun with you and your families!

jami & jordan

Eeek, it’s Friday, and I haven’t posted all week. How did I just now realize this? Anyway, meet {sisters} Jami & Jordan, we did this shoot back in November in 0.5 seconds. Seriously, super fast and short. Jami is going to college at the University of South Carolina, and Jordan is going to UNC Charlotte; I’m so jealous!

You two are gorgeous.

jordan & jami: thank you so much for letting me photograph you, I had so much fun! :)

hold on tight.

I think we did this shoot on one of the coldest days of December. It was freezing! It was the first day that we actually saw a few snow flurry’s before it turned to hail. But these awesome troopers rocked it anyway, Laina (the little girl) would sit there and never cried, but would just shiver, her little chin would move 90 mph, I felt terrible! It was killing me. Buttttt I really do think, it paid off ;)

First we got some pictures alone of Josh, Ashley & Laina. A little later, Ashley’s sister and her family came up for some group Christmas pictures.

Confession: I would like a pair of these boots for myself.

Seriously. Frame next picture. Blow it up. Huge. She is stunning.

how can we say ‘no’ to a hug for Pooh? oh melt my heart.

A sucker makes everything better, right Laina? Right.

And here is Brittany (Ashley’s sister) and her son Brody. Brody says he’s cold too :)

But Dad warms him up :)

The hairbows, tutu, and Christmas outfits worn in this shoot were made by Ashley. She owns Hunni Bunni Bowtique and Charming Impressions. She’s so talented :)

Ashley & Family: I loveee you all, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity, I hope 2011 is the best year for you yet!
