loved.

This family was so fun! They reminded me so much of my own family :) I get asked all the time how are you so patient with these kids? My response: um, maybe you should meet MY family! ;) Meet the Mangam and Greene family:

Look at this little face! Presh :)

cutest little twins ever? um yes. how did we accomplish this shot? luck. strickly luck :) (and yes, thats snow on the ground. Told ya, I’m a little behind posting :-/)

Kivi & family: Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to photograph your family, again :) You are so fun and loved!

matt+tricia

These two were married on a gorgeous January day, in a cozy little church right outside of Monroe. I met them through Matt’s family, I didn’t really know Matt, but I knew his parents. So Matt’s mom called me, and said “I want you to talk to my future daughter-in-law about wedding photography!”, okay yay! So Tricia and I talked for a while, and then talked again on facebook later, and we realized we were actually distant cousins. Ah, small world! Our grandparents are first cousins, sweet!

I brought along Dallas (my 15 year old brother) as my assistant, and since he loves photography, I let him do some 2nd shooting. I was in loveee with the images he got. I’m such a gushing older sister! ;)

this is Tricia’s sister – Katie. I’m so, so jealous of this girls hair.

note: I’m not planning on booking anymore shoots for the month of March, I work 45 hours a week at my daytime job and then only book shoots on weekends, and after such a busy February I’m slimming down March to catch up on my life ;)  But in April I’ll be back at it! Email me if you’re interested in booking :)

the grigstons.

Ah, this is the last pre-Christmas photoshoot I have to post. I went with this family down to Rocky River Vineyards, on a cold misty December day. They rocked it. Like rock stars. They did these pictures for their parents Christmas gifts; after Christmas, Tyler called and said “momma cried”, of course my initial response was what? she hated them that much!? :) Tyler said nope, she loved them. Yep, I think that means the weather and ridiculous mountain climbing was worth it :)

Ready to meet the very people who should be the sole models for Abercrombie? :)

Tyler

Wesley

Daniel

Shana

they thought I was crazy when I asked them to do this. I kept saying “I know, I know, its crazy but just trust me!” Thennnn I saw it was posted as Shana’s default on facebook a while back — score! :)

Grigston family: thank you for being awesome sports and climbing “mount everest” in strive for cool pictures. you, are the best. :)

country living {part 2}

“They say laughter is the best medicine; but really to make it work right, your eyes have to crinkle and dance”

Keeley: thank you SO much for asking me to do these for you, Keelyn is the spitting image of you, its adorable. And her sass totally made my day!

I lovee this picture of Keeley :)

I’m not sure the dog is too impressed… Haha!

She’s bustin’ out the inner model here..

so pretty!

hold on tight.

I think we did this shoot on one of the coldest days of December. It was freezing! It was the first day that we actually saw a few snow flurry’s before it turned to hail. But these awesome troopers rocked it anyway, Laina (the little girl) would sit there and never cried, but would just shiver, her little chin would move 90 mph, I felt terrible! It was killing me. Buttttt I really do think, it paid off ;)

First we got some pictures alone of Josh, Ashley & Laina. A little later, Ashley’s sister and her family came up for some group Christmas pictures.

Confession: I would like a pair of these boots for myself.

Seriously. Frame next picture. Blow it up. Huge. She is stunning.

how can we say ‘no’ to a hug for Pooh? oh melt my heart.

A sucker makes everything better, right Laina? Right.

And here is Brittany (Ashley’s sister) and her son Brody. Brody says he’s cold too :)

But Dad warms him up :)

The hairbows, tutu, and Christmas outfits worn in this shoot were made by Ashley. She owns Hunni Bunni Bowtique and Charming Impressions. She’s so talented :)

Ashley & Family: I loveee you all, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity, I hope 2011 is the best year for you yet!

happy birthday to Jesus.

For the first time this year, on Christmas morning my siblings actually suggested that we read the story of Jesus’ birth.  Just like around Easter we read of his death and do communion, this year on his birthday, we read of his birth. I thought it couldn’t have been a more perfect time to remember the real reason of Christmas. I think we should make it a tradition.

Every year, we get together with my mom and dad’s sides of the family. Usually with my dad’s on the weekend before, since Christmas day is usually so busy for everybody. This year my grandmother (dads mom) was able to come with us for the first time in 4 years. She lives in a nursing home, and can’t walk, so we can’t usually get her there. But this year my family thought of renting a ‘medi-taxi’ to get her there. When I originally told her, she started crying and said “don’t worry Mallory! These are only tears of joy.” She was so excited to get to come, and we were so excited to be able to get her there. Before we left to see the family, I went over and did her hair and got her all dressed up. Every time someone would say how pretty she looked, she would respond with “well I just can’t help it!”. :)

My mom, dad, brothers and sisters with Mawmaw.

Then on Christmas day we always go to my mom’s parents house, better known as ‘Mum & Pop’s’ :) This is my mom, mum & pop, her sister, and her brothers.

mom and dad, and all my moms brothers, sister, and spouses (except for Shannon who had ran home to get something so she isn’t in the picture)

And here we are, the majority of the grandkids :) (except for Cody  & Whitney, Cameron, Autumn, Jeremy, and Kane)

I love this series of Mum & Pop :)

anddd favorite :)

happy days.

It’s Thanksgiving night, and I’m stuffed. At this point I think I’ll be doing good to be eating by next week (psh yeah right); but point made.

All day I’ve thought about all I’m thankful for, and I honestly couldn’t even try to tell you the whole list; but at the top is definitely my freedom of faith, my unrelenting supportive family, my friends, and you reading this too. Whether you allowed me to be your photographer at some point this year, whether you’ve only read my blog, or whether you’ve commented here or on facebook. You have no IDEA how much it means to me.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I’m feel so blessed, and each and every day I pray to be lead in the direction God tends for me to go, even if it isn’t doing photography. Sometimes it’s good to remember that a prayer never goes unanswered, if only we could realize when they are answered in a way thats better than what we asked for.

I love you. From the bottom of my heart; I really do love you. xoxo

{here is a shot from a shoot I did today, it’s so good to love life and each other so effortlessly :) }

sunny delight.

I’ve been a straight blogging diva this week! So proud of myself! :)

One of my favorite families in the world right here. The sun was trying to get all up in our way and I was worried how it would end up looking on the computer when I got home, but as I went back through the pictures, I feel like we rocked that sun light :)

I know there is sun flare all over the place on this next one, but I still just can’t help but love it :)
